National Vision Statement: “A Transformed Ugandan Society from a Peasant to a Modern and Prosperous Country within 30 years”
The NIA Project Unit, working together with other government institutions and key stakeholders, developed the Uganda Vision 2040 to translate the country’s long-term aspirations into a practical framework.
Uganda Vision 2040 builds on the progress already made in addressing critical challenges that have affected the country’s socio-economic growth since independence.
These challenges include ideological gaps, a weak private sector, limited skilled human resources, insufficient infrastructure, a narrow domestic market, low levels of industrialization, an underdeveloped services sector, slow agricultural transformation, and weak democratic practices, among others.
